The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with his love, He will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

Angela Longoria LMFT-AI am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate under the supervision of Mary Ring, LMFT-S. I did my practicum at Houston’s First Baptist Church where I served on the family team. I have a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood. I taught public school and worked in various ministries before seeking my master’s from Abilene Christian University. I obtained my master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy with an emphasis in Trauma in the Spring of 2020.I became a Christ-follower at the age of 21 after indulging in all the world had to offer and finding it unfulfilling. I can honestly say that God pursued me and delivered me. There is no other explanation for my transformation. As a result of the life I lived, I desired to become a therapist to help those who struggled as I once did. I specifically sought out Marriage and Family Therapy to be trained at the root of where problems begin. I believe mental wellness comes from stable, loving families. Unknowingly we pass on generational problems until we purposefully seek to be more like Jesus and invite Him to make changes in our lives according to His will. Breaking the bondage of generational sin can be difficult because we do not always recognize it since the patterns have been a part of our families for generations. Recognizing we need to make a change is the first step. Therapy is hard work and looks different for everyone. There is no way to know how long it will take. I commend you for having the courage to begin the process, and l look forward to walking the journey beside you.

My testimony:

I became a Christ-follower at the age of 21. He gave me a purpose and a passion. I was struggling with the fear of failure and the fear of rejection. Apart from Him, I made a lot of poor choices. I was not a stranger to dysfunction and knew too well the effects of generational bondage. My purpose is to help others to experience the healing that is possible through Jesus Christ and my passion is to strengthen families. This comes in many different forms. Sometimes meeting with an individual is best to heal from past hurts. Sometimes the marriage relationship needs strengthened so the family feels secure. Sometimes parents need guidance knowing what is best for their child. Sometimes the family benefits from learning new ways of relating to one another. Every time, Jesus is at the center walking with us as we seek to honor and glorify Him. I believe God wants the best for our lives and He is more than capable of delivering us from our current circumstances. Our future can be different and we can pass down love and security to future generations.

I specifically sought out Marriage and Family Therapy to be trained at the root of where problems begin. I have a unique opportunity to work with people of all ages and all backgrounds. Breaking the bondage of generational sin can be difficult because we do not always recognize it since the patterns have been a part of our families for generations. Unknowingly we pass on problems from generation to generation. Mental wellness comes from stable families who know how to love one another well. Recognizing we need to make a change is the first step. Therapy is hard work and looks different for everyone. There is no way to know how long it will take. I commend you for having the courage to begin the process, and l look forward to walking the journey beside you.
